While working at VBAT in Amsterdam, Chris consulted on the overall redesign direction for the export bottle to the US. The existing opaque white “ceramic” bottle design (shown below) was a taste confusion for the fledgling American craft beer market. Chris influenced the color change and abandonment of the white bottle to follow its sister beer line, Heineken, which was at the time the leading import to the US with its iconic green glass. He also designed and produced a variety of exterior signage and consumer promotions that soon became ubiquitous at many canal-side bars and restaurants throughout Holland.
